Minneapolis City Hall transforms for same-sex wedding ceremonies.

At midnight, same-sex couples will begin saying their "I Do's" in Minnesota. New legislation legalizes gay marriage as of Aug. 1.
Preparations are underway at Minneapolis City Hall where flowers have been delivered and rainbow lights shine in the rotunda.
Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak will marry 42 same-sex couples starting at midnight. Starting at 1 a.m. Hennepin County judges will marry an additional 21 couples. The doors open to the public at 10:30 p.m. and the ceremonies last until 6 a.m.
There will be performances by the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus and the Copper Street Brass Quintet. Each couple has been asked to write their own vows and will have their photo taken after the ceremony. The newlyweds will be asked to write their stories in a guest book for the Minnesota Historical Society.
St. Louis Park couple Meri Gauthier and Janice Culnane have been together for 37 years. Their wedding ceremony is planned for 1 a.m. on Thursday.
"It's just really exciting it's like yes, Minnesota, good for Minnesota. We're just proud, we just love being part of Minnesota even more than we ever did," Culnane said.
