MLB Picks: Baseball Value Picks for Sunday

It?s time to make our MLB Picks of the Day for the last Sunday in the month of June and you know what that means; two big winners.

Check the MLB odds and look for the biggest possible edge available.

Sunday Night Baseball

New York Yankees (42-38) at Baltimore Orioles (46-36)

I?m so excited about this game that I?m going to give the free baseball pick for this game first even though it?s the last game played of the day. The simple fact is that the Yankees are floundering. Just listening to yesterday?s game in the car, before the blink of an eye, Baltimore is leading 4-0 due to a Chris Davis 3 run home run and the game is basically over.

Holes in the Starting Pitching Rotation

Image previewWhen you start guys like David Phelps against a big-time Orioles offense, you can expect to be down 9-0 after the 3rd inning as the Yankees were yesterday. New York has fallen 5 ? games behind the Red Sox and are now trailing the O?s by 3 games. They?re on a 4 games losing streak and definitely need someone to stop the bleeding. Who do they turn to?

Hiroki Kuroda

For the most part, Hiroki Kuroda has had a very good season with an impressive 2.77 ERA. Kuroda faces a difficult situation as he opposes Chris Tillman (9-2, 3.72) and Tillman pitches just good enough to leave the outcome to the Orioles hitters.

Both pitchers have been giving up 2 to 3 runs in their last few starts. This game is really about which offense gets off first and that spells trouble for the Yanks.

Chris Davis

As the New York Yankees radio announcers said, Davis was pretty much discarded by Texas and ?left for dead?. Texas? loss is Baltimore?s gain as Davis has been tearing the cover off of the baseball. He leads the majors in home runs and is on pace to hit nearly 60 home runs and drive in over 150 runs batted in.

I have one bit of advice for Huroki Kuroda; ?pitch around Davis or you?ll lose?

Expect the Orioles offense to calm down a bit as Kuroda is a lot better than Phelps.

Pick- Yankees/Orioles UNDER 8.5 for your sports picks

Los Angeles Angels (38-43) at Houston Astros (30-51)

I?ve been just waiting for the Angels to take off and they have. They?re currently on a 5 game winning streak, getting ever so closer to the .500 mark as the All- Star Break draws nearer, and have a distinct advantage in this game as C.J. Wilson (7-5, 3.88) faces a rather weak Houston Astros team.

Loaded With Talent

The Los Angeles Angels have so much talent that they can matchup with any team in baseball. For some reason, their high priced players have just had a difficult time adjusting to playing in California.

Albert Pujols (.249) and Josh Hamilton (.221) were supposed to be two of the best players in baseball. They got payed a lot of money and haven?t delivered. Instead, the the Angels have counted on 21 year old Mike Trout.

The Future of Baseball

In my opinion, the two best players at their age and the future of baseball are pitcher Matt Harvey of the Mets and Mike Trout of the Angels.

Trout started off the season very slow, but has been on fire as of late. This kid looks like a baseball player and is someone that the youngsters of America (and beyond) can look up to.

On the season, Trout has 13 HR, 52 RBI, 20 SB, and a .315 BA. This player can easily be a 40-40 man in the future without steroids. I don?t want to hear about Bryce Harper as he?s not even in Trout?s league.

In his last 5 games, Trout is 10 for 23 with 1 HR and 6 RBI.

The Angels face a team that?s very weak overall, but features a budding new star in Jason Castro (.269, 11 HR and 27 RBI). The numbers aren?t totally there, but for a catcher, Castro has a major upside. Wilson will need to proceed with caution when facing Castro and Jose Altuve.

Pick- Los Angeles Angels -168 at Bet 365

Good Luck, everyone!
